There are 32 teams in the National Hockey League; NHL; 7 in Canada and the rest in the USA. The Montreal Canadiens are the most successful team, having won the Stanley Cup 24 times (although, 10 of these cup wins came during the 'Orignal Six' era when only six teams competed in the NHL).

Pre-Covid the average per game NHL attendance was 17,500. The Chicago Blackhawks have the biggest arena, and had the highest attendance figures of 21,000 per game, while the New York Islanders had a very poor average attendance of only 10,500.
