For the 2024-25 Champions League, Shakhtar Donetsk will play at the Veltins-Arena (the home of Shalke 04), Germany due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Barcelona will play at Estadi Olimpic due to the redevelopment of the Camp Nou and Brest will play at the Stade de Roudourou as their stadium does not meet UEFA requirements.

Snapshot of the Champions League

The UEFA Champions League is the top level club competition in European Football. It starts properly in September when 36 teams enter the league stage. However before this stage starts there are four qualifying rounds where up to 47 teams are eliminated. Real Madrid is by far the most successful team, having won the Champions League a record 15 times; seven more times than the team with the second-best record - AC Milan. There are huge financial rewards for playing in the Champions League. Each team earns a minimum of 12.7 million Euro's for appearing in the group stages with 57.2 million Euro's being handed to the eventual competition winners.
